Abuse in Later Life Program

As part of the Indiana Project on Abuse in Later Life (INPALL), the Abuse in Later Life advocate at the Family Justice Center provides support and services to victims of elder abuse in St. Joseph County.

The term “elder abuse” means any action against a person who is 50 years of age or older that constitutes the willful (A) infliction of injury, unreasonable confinement, intimidation, or cruel punishment with resulting physical harm, pain, or mental anguish; or (B) deprivation by a person, including a caregiver, of goods or services with intent to cause physical harm, mental anguish, or mental illness.
The Abuse in Later Life program helps those 50+ who have experienced or are experiencing one or more of the following:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Sexual Assault
  • Financial Exploitation
  • Neglect
  • Stalking
If you or someone you know is experiencing one or more of these abuses and wishes to get help, please contact the Family Justice Center at 574-234-6900.
